I don't know if they are having trouble finding qualified applicants or what, but the posting has be Re-Re-Re-posted AGAIN as of todays date!

www.translink.ca/drive and THEN "Coast Mountain Bus Company" if interested.

There are also approx 18 or so jobs up at TransLink; about 8 MORE at Coast Mountain Bus; 11 MORE at BCRTC/SkyTrain; 1 MORE at WCE; 2 MORE at Transit Police; & 1 MORE at HandyDART. Each have a link off of that TransLink careers page and do their own hiring.

thanks, so I guess starting wages for maintenance jobs on buses would be higher than minimum wage for sure?
Union wages.

Servicepersons start out at about $21 an hour now; and climb to $29 an hour over a two year period.

Certified mechanics earn $40 an hour...

Mini bus drivers earn $19.37 thru $26 an hour

Big bus drivers earn $22.53 thru $32.19 an hour

Call centre staff start at like $23 an hour

Depot office staff start at $30 an hour....

Yes, all employees at TransLink belong to a union. There are a number of unions. Office workers union, drivers and maintenance staff union, SkyTrain union, Canada line workers are in a different union.
are translink jobs and jobs like this (service jobs not the bus driving jobs) union?

Update: Postings currently removed from the website, but they will be back soon.

TransLink has had at least two hiring fairs in the past month or so, so I think HR is swamped processing applicants as they move thru the recruitment process...

Stay tuned!

Well... Depends on who will be operating the proposed line. Will it be a continuation of the current Expo line? Or will it be separate? Sounds like its at least five years away, probably double that.

Maybe this question is off topic a little, but I was wondering about the recent news about Surrey making more skytrain, instead of surface transit.

Will it be the same company that runs the skytrains in Vancouver that will be running things all the way to Langley too?

It looks like skytrain and buses will be one of the biggest source of jobs in the lower mainland Vancouver, I guess it doesn't hurt to get started and build up seniority with loyalty.
