For me ,besides baby sitting ,I worked at Woolco! Anyone remember that store? Basically Walmart took them over I think.

I worked in the shoe department, getting people their sizes and tidying up the big piles of shoe displays they had.

The gang I worked with were quite the characters. It was lots of fun at the time.Good job for a 16 year old,it would be a horrible job for an adult.

The sh- I got away with working there was unbelievable.LOL
DDD i would love a 3some
I still remember my manager very well,he would walk around clapping his hands saying"customers, customers, customers"  we did not get any commision or anything but he would get us to write down all the sales we made.

I would cheat and write down shoes I saw people just finding on their own.
If I remember correctly I think I made about $3.50 an hour back then! Grin

my first paying job was at the dorr-oliver-long steel plant in orillia, ontario.
my dad's company  had the contract to replace the heating system to a new infra-red  system.
i was twelve and i just cut and threaded pipe on a mobile threading machine from the back of a company van. i was payed 75 dollars for the summers work in orillia, ontario and it was the best summer of my childhood.

also, that was where my dad got his pilot licence and where i learned to fly solo--alone in a plane. however, i never did really fly alone til i took my flying lessons in saskatoon 6 yrs later

LOL reminds me of my first boyfriends mom. she use to dispatch taxi and then drove taxi.
We were about 17 years old at the time. She was pulled over on the side of the street in her taxi.
Me and Mike were standing beside her car with her door open talking to her. out of the blue this car with 2 big guys comes peeling in[Like Starsky and hutch lol] and screeching their brakes right in front of us. I thought we were going to be killed. I literally thought the way this car came at us and when I saw these 2 big guys jump out and come toward us,I thought they were going to rob us or what ever.
they turned out to be under cover cops and for some reason thought we were robbing this taxi driver. Don't ask me why, but talk about over kill!
actually I had a few altercations with the cops while going out with him! Too funny each time was major over kill on the cops part.  Roll Eyes

I thought you were 45 or so.

You must have been in high school in the 1970s, no?

I slept with a woman about a month ago who was born in 1963 so, since I believe you are not quite that old, you can't be doing too badly.

doing fire taping drywall also helped me buy my first sports car a white 1985 IROC-Z with a T-5 5-speed and L69 305HO V-8 it was not the best car when you are dirty from mudding walls all day or hauling tools but my buddy had a truck and hauled the mixers and stuff so it was no that Bad. best part was coming home the T-roofs off listening to van halen or Iron maiden cranked right up it made the commute form surrey to poco not that bad in rush hour afterwork in the afternoons
I loved the tropper it kick ass on that old Ac delco stereo the camaro had man it makes feel like like I am 19 all over again in the early 00's Smiley

I lived reasonably close to that area once, I'm trying to remember that restaurant. Was it on the right hand side of Edmonds if you were heading towards kingsway from cananda way, about half way between those two streets?
did you live around there?maybe we hung out as teenagers!!!! Wouldn't that be funny! LOL
