I never replied to him/her asking for a price. I'm afraid would be too much for me. How much you think a site like this would worth? A .com domain name is only like $6 a year. As for server, can pretty much upload a forum on any free sites.

you know what a forum is only a place to chat and there are LOTS of forums out there. If everyone moved over to another one together it would be no different. so if the spamming gets too bad on here we always have that option!
community forum is totally dead no one goes on there. I look on it about once every few months and there may of been 5 posts tops,same with DBC Macy and a couple of others have been hanging around all loney. thats a nice little forum and you can ban on there,if needed.

I'm reading through this thread and appreciate all your suggestions and help. As far as banning and spam, the spam is coming from different ip's every time so banning would not change the amount of spam at all, and most of the spammers only come and post once and never come back, so deleting their post achieves just as much as banning them would.

The suggestion for a stronger captcha system is something I am looking into, and I recently increased the captcha difficulty, but I think that the spambots that all of the spammers are using these days pauses and allows the spammer to intervene humanly and overcome even challenge captchas. I will look into setting up a challenge captcha soon to try it out anyways, but unfortunately spam is a difficulty when a forum has been around for a long time.

Fortunately, deleting a spam post is a quick and easy thing to do here.

As far as banning capability, we are still discussing the issue with admin but there is a train of thought that we would rather keep IP information private and not have anyone looking at IP's, including me or any of the mods and posters, just out of respect for all of the posters here.

yeah ace has been known to use IP info against posters he doesn't like.
