our garbage strike is over!!!

Yippee after no garbage pick up for about a month or so it will be nice to see the truck show up on monday!!
We tried composting the whole time during the strike. We are already really good at recycling everything we possible can but never really composted. I wish the district would start a weekly compost pickup, that would  keep the garbage down out of the land fills! Our garbage was cut down by at least half! it is lots of work and messy to do it all the time at home,so I honestly probably won't keep it up.
If we had the pickup thing,I definetly would do it!
I know I watched on the news quite a few months back some city actually does do a compost pickup and it is good for keeping the land fill down. I don't get why we can't do that here in Vancouver and the surrounding areas! I'm glad we at least have a yard trim and recycle pick up where I live!
