I do not fear the future.

« on: September 13, 2009, 01:06:27 am »

I can totally smell it tonight.

I have been guessing for weeks. When the new owners moved in, they always seem to do things to the house, like fixing it and stuff.

Now every night I look out my bedroom window around 2am their lights are always on downstairs. Lights are never on upstairs.

Also seem like nobody lives in the house.

I have my window open as I type. I can really smell it tonight. All those other time I thought it might be the smell from some plants outside, but now I'm pretty sure. Like 85% sure.

I guess I'll just mind my own business.

G.F. if you report it to crime stoppers anonymously, and there turns out to be a grow op they WILL pay you a few hundred dollars!! I know this for a fact! also no one would ever know who you are as they give you a code to claim your reward!
If these neighbours of yours are in the drug business you may want them gone as who knows what kind of sh- can come down with people breaking in,or something catching fire etc.
You should say something ,If you are wrong no harm will come of it!
call they will NEVER know you called, and you do not have to go to court!

Rat!
if I had a neighbour growing weed, you bet your ass I would report it. I like living in a safe environment free of B&Es crime and lowlifes!
I have known people in the past involved in this sh-,when you have a grow up your house is a prime target for crime. Your so called "friends" will rip you off for your stash, fires have been started from improper electrical hook up,which would put G.F. house at risk.
These people may be involved in other crap like a meth lab, that could blow his house up. He would be a fool not to voice his concerns! He does not owe these people anything. If he calls crime stoppers they WILL check it out, if it is nothing then no harm done if they find something and the people are charged G.F. will get an award depending on how big a score it was.
If this is a big operation he could get a nice hefty little sum!
go for it G.F. be a rat, don't listen to Forny, your neighbours will not know you called.People like them will just bring down the value of your neighbourhood.

forny, be real. these assholes trash houses/condos/apartments and risk the lives of others by the many fires/explosions they have caused. they care nothing about anyone's life and have one thing in mind--making money at anyone's expense. if i found out someone in my building had a grow-op, i'd be on the phone to the cops in less THAN a new york second. i'd turn in rapists/murderers/pedos and people running a dangerous neighbourhood grow-op and maybe some others that i can't think of right now.

HOW does Crimestoppers work??
Why call crimestoppers?

are you worried about what might happen to you if you talk to the police?

Maybe you've seen or heard something about a crime but don't know what to do?.

Are you scared to come forward and be a witness?

If you feel like this, it's easy to think there's nothing you can do...

Would you say something if no-one knew it was you

then Crime Stoppers is here for you

Tell us what you know not who you are.

We pay cash rewards of up to $2,000

if the information you give to Crimestoppers leads to one or more
people being arrested and charged.

How does the Tip Line work
When you call us, we will give you a code number.  This will be the only way of identifying
you anytime you call back or to collect the reward.  You must not share this number with anyone.
You will  also be asked to contact us again at a later date, to find out if the information
you gave us led to somebody being arrested and charged.

When that happens, you will be told how to go about collecting your reward.
Crimestoppers is not a police program --

It is an independent Civilian charity working with the police and the media
to help solve crime in our communities.

You remain anonymous, criminals don't
If you know something, call us, your identity will not be revealed
Crimestoppers - 1- 800 - 222 - 8477 - from anywhere in Canada

Or a WEBTIP at    www.solvecrime.ca

If the police showed up at my door my neighbours would be the first people I'd suspect.

Who else would know?

the key word is 'suspect'. they couldn't actually know. plus, the more neighbours, the more to suspect.

also, word gets around, so many could know.

I guess that's why it's good to know your neighbours on some level.

I have some plants growing in my backyard along the fence with one of my neighbours.

They must know they are there but they've never squealed on me. I'm not involved in any sort of organised crime unless you consider capitalism theft.

I know a woman a couple houses down has a pretty large operation going in her greenhouse but it's for her personal use and she sells to friends and makes products for people with medical conditions.

I would be pissed if somebody finked her out.

That's the problem.

Just calling the cops because you smell weed could be an overreaction.

If I had Vietnamese gangsters with attack dogs, booby traps and assault rifles next door I'd call the cops too.

But the act of growing weed doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Even if they are selling it, I don't necessarily see that as a problem.

well, if you read what gf posted about the smell,  lights on all night, no one seems to live there, etc. it sounds like a grow op.

If cops showed up to a house and there were just a few plants growing for personal use they would not give a sh- either, and they would not pursue any charges.

Considering the Tories want six month jail sentences for having one plant, I'm not so sure.

confession time for me. when I was around 22 I was going out with this guy to be blunt was a complete loser.[I was young and stupid, but learnt a lot from the experience!]
anyway he owed me lots of money and was just a complete lazy ass that did not work. I knew his best friend had a grow op. Anyway to make a long story short,he moved into a new place,we were breaking up.I guessed he was going to have his own grow op.
I was very pissed off at him this particular day,and still had not gotten any of the money he owed me so I decided to call crime stoppers on him.
going by just a guess I gave them his new address etc and told them what I figured he was up to.
They gave me a code number,I was to call them back and see how things progressed. anyway again to make a long story short,I was instructed to meet a person beside the Birks clock at a certain time and date. I did and felt like a fool because I had no idea who the person was nor did they know who I was.So I kept eyeing people up and I am sure some people must of thought I was weird or something,it was quite neat actually. Anyway some dude sort of shows up and just stands there,I go up to him and mention this code. he just hands me an envelope and walks away, just like that,no other chit chat. I run for my bus to go home and open the envelope and there was $200 inside it Cheesy

My ex boyfriend did not have a clue I called on him.He actualy didn't even know I found out his new address.I did that without him knowing.
He assumed it was another one of their friends that did it. Anyway no charges ever came as the prosecuter screwed up their names calling each other by the other persons name so the case was thrown out of court.
So I got the money back that was owed to me,got some revenge on my ex for being such an asshole. The entire experience was sur real. This is how I know they never know who you are.I never had to go to court or anything,It was perfect!

OK I've never thought to report the grow-op's in the neighbourhood to crimestoppers but  for $200, sure.  Smiley
As NSgirl says who wants the criminals in the neighbourhood.

I am sure you get a lot more then $200 now!! I am 45 years old now ,so think inflation! If you reported a grow op and they made an arrest especially if it was worth lots of money on the street, your reward would probably be more like $2000!

I'm just gona wait another month. The lights downstairs was on every night last month or July, and then no lights for about a week. Maybe the guy harvested the stuff and took a week off, but now back on business. $200 is kind of low, but it helps to pay off that new sony camera.

If their lights not on for a week again, then I'll know 100% for sure. I'm still really afraid I might be wrong. Maybe nobody live upstairs and they rent downstairs out.

I tried to rat my parents out when I was little but the cops didn't believe me. The only thing that happened is my parents got a call from child services to notify them they would have an inspection sometime the next week and it would be unannounced. So they got as high as possible cleaned up their sh- and bitched at eachother and me for a week till the "inspection" was done.

i wish people would not consider turning in someone who is a serious threat to them or their neighbourhood/nation the same as ratting someone out. then, what are we but a bunch of losers who are just as bad as those we know are bad and do nothing to stop? i do not even like killing spiders, but i will if i know they bite people. it is the same bloody principle.

Do you think you would have been better off if they had removed you from the home

Yeah probably. But I don't dwell on it. I'm happy with everything in my life now.
