Just got home from 5 days over on the island. Wow was the weather ever nice, I spent a good chunk of the time at West Wood lake in Nanaimo. I picked my son up one of those  inflatable boats with paddles. I even went in once and paddled around in the lake. We also went to Parksville for a day and played on the beach, writing stuff in the sand using shells and then taking pictures of it.

We missed the big storm you guys had here in Vancouver. I could see it from a distance and hear the thunder and saw lightning but it was a ways a way and did not come directly over us like it did on the mainland.

My kitchen got gutted while I was away. What a mess,I need a bit of patch work done on the dry wall. I'll have to get use to not having a kitchen for awhile I guess.
It will be like camping at our house. If the weather stays nice it should be o.k. at least we can bbque some stuff.

my friend wants me to go fishing with them, I haven't been in years, it sounds like it would be a good getaway too

are you glad you went and all refreshed now?

Kitchen...who even wants to try cooking right now in this heat......be glad it gives you a reason not too

well I don't even have a counter top to put a coffeepot on,when I say gutted I mean gutted! If it starts to rain, it would be nice to have a kitchen, at least a sink to clean up with! Thats gone too!

HELL NO ..... enjoy it well you can.........its like fun.....then its all back together and its back to the same old same old

I spent a good chunk of the time in the shade as it was HOT out!  the water was very nice swimming in and I am not a swimmer. I rarely go into the lakes,unless its pretty hot. Now I'm all tanned up golden brown,so I will look like I've had a holiday when I get back to work in a couple of weeks.

It was a few degrees hotter on the island then the mainland. However once your in those temperatures it gets to a point were its actually a tad too hot!
