The tolls kick in at midnight tonight... I believe it's $3.90 per car, unless you've signed up for one of the 2 cheaper options... www.translink.ca has all the info and links... Wink

my guess would be they will get a collection agency after you, or maybe it is tied into your icbc insurance.

the best way to find out is to drive over it and see what happens. keep us informed DDD.

I think you have to pay it before you can renew your insurance.

I can't believe they plan on mailing out single billings?  Why wouldn't they just get ICBC to collect it with you insurance every year?

that makes to much sense and is cheaper! that why! LOL
Well I  guess if people get a bill in the mail they will take it more seriously and may or may not pay it, and may or may not start paying as they use. But if they only collect once a year, then people will bitch and complain big time because the bill will be too much for them to afford!

So it's offical:

Quote
To ensure the toll is collected fairly and equitably from all users, ICBC will refuse to issue a driver's license, vehicle license and vehicle insurance when a person owes TransLink an excessive toll debt. These terms are defined in the Tolling Bylaw approved by the TransLink Board of Directors.

Excessive Toll Debt = a toll debt that exceeds $25.00

so as long as I only go over a couple of times I will never have to pay this bill

So my husband took the Golden Ears bridge yesterday so now I get to see how they bill for individual crossings.

He said that the bridge didn't have any traffic on it and if you were travelling South there was a speed trap so it might cost you even more than you planned. Wink
