And the thing nobody ever talks about is the piss.

The stench and the dead grass/flowers/trees from dog piss is too much.

The same laws that say humans can't piss and sh- on the street should be applied to these beasts....

Why do these beasts have more rights than humans...?

I sometimes stop and say "hello" to this homeless guy who hangs around outside my office and he showed me a ticket he received from a cop for peeing down a storm sewer in a back alley.

Meanwhile, dogs can piss where ever they feel like it.

I'll leave it there before I get too wound up about why people who live in the city have dogs in the first place and why they insist on taking them places....

When you can come up with a plan to train a dog how to piss in a toilet,then you have a legit beef. However seeing a dog owners only choice is to walk their dog. DEAL WITH IT!

I do think they need to pick up the poo, but to say they cannot even pee in a park,that is getting too unreasonable IMO!

I agree with forni, piss sucks as much as sh- residue, but nevertheless, i think the cost of pet ownership and rescuing such pets, the risk of some urine here and there outweighs the cost of homeless dogs.  Chances are, the urine you are smelling is from the very homeless person you had mentioned yourself.

If I see a dog owner that doesn't pick up after their dog I FREAK!! and while were on this subject another pet peeve I have (no pun intended) is when I hear a dog bark and their owners just stand there and do nothing about it.....That sets me off as well...Why do they think that everyone around them has to hear that noise pollution? OK off to the pub I go for fish "n" chips!!

Generally speaking, dog owners are assholes. There are exceptions, but not enough to make any real difference.

There are 4 of us in my household and 3 wanted a dog. I did not want one. Anyway, he turned out to be quite a sweet pet. Just the other night, he sat next to me on the couch and rested one paw on my lap. Aw, isn't that sweet? I felt the love.

woah...Do you know just how many people own dogs?
There are two types. the ones that are YES crappy pet owners, that leave their dogs in all day and don't walk them and let them bark.

Or the ones that actually look after their pets and take great pride in getting out with them for excercise and fun.

I don't own a dog anymore,I just borrow them all the time, to help out my neighbours. I would make an awesome dog owner. However I will just have to settle for my cat as my husband does not want a dog!

I guess I have it good,I get the joy of a beautiful golden retreiver dog[that absolutely loves me to death]Without the hassle of 24/7 ownership and the expensive of food and vet bills![^]
I have keys to their house and I can just take her out when ever I want![]

Good for you NSgirl. My sister is like the Saint of all animals. She saves them from the streets, from the pound. She has 3 cats and one dog and she walks dogs all day. In fact, she was working full time and then started walking dogs part time and now her clientele has grown that she's thinking of quitting her full time job. It's crazy but it's been good for her. She's single and loves city living and she loves animals.

Dogs aren't meant to be walked around the city. Let them piss and sh- in your backyard and if you don't have an adequate backyard you shouldn't have a dog.

And those dog owners who insist on taking their dogs EVERYWHERE they go need to have their heads examined.

The dog doesn't need to drive to the bank with you!

Growing up we always had dogs but they stayed on our property and we never took them anywhere--the way it should be.
