AFTER (This is mine too. I'm taking it to it's first car show tonight [Smiley] Not going to enter it, just want to see what reactions it gets.. if any.

We can't hook up Gordy, he's in love with another and we all happy for him Smiley

I LOVE Mustangs! I wish the one in pic was mine. But I'd rather have a comvertible.

At the moment, I'm at that stage where I do as I'm told..lol  Someone else makes all the decisions. Not totally on the Impala cuz it's mine so I chose the details for it. But I was instructed what and how to do it. I thought about selling it and buying my own mustang to restore but I just finished the Impala so Im kinda emotional about it..lol
Do you guys think $12,000 is too much for it?

This is everything its had done.
The driver quarter panel and the right front lower fender was replaced.  It has a 283 with new belts, hoses, water pump and alternator all fixed to look stock. It has a new clutch kit and hurst shifter 4 speed (I even put little skulls as door knobs, you know to lock and unlock the door.. too cute) I installed new black carpet, headliner, weatherstripping, rearbumper and door sill plates. Rebuilt the brake system. I had 2 new factory bent exhaust pipes from the manifolds and and 2 new summit glass pack mufflers and it's gone now to have tail pipes installed. The car was completely stripped, glass and interior taken out then repainted with dupont single stage urethane. Oh yeah and it has about 38,000 miles on it.

Have a good one.. big hugs to you all!

gordy, it is an '81 t-bird. hardly a classic, but she's solid. my 77 lincoln and my 78 t-bird both saved my life because they were solid enough to keep me alive during a t-bone in the lincoln--a woman hit my passenger door head on at about 60 mph and in my other t-bird i hit a woman who turned left in front of me at about 40 mph. all four cars were write offs and although surgeries were involved, we all lived. you could punch or kick these cars without denting them unlike today's cars. plus, this baby has the 302 engine which is an all time gem.

That is awesome work Tasha.  I like the Mustangs, especially the fastbacks of '65 and '66, but I like the Impalas of that era even more...

The '65 and '66 body style was well sculptured, IMHO.  A full sized car with nice lines, that has common GM running gear...  Of course, I'd love one of the few '65's that were ordered with the 409, but that's just a dream[Cheesy]...  I'd even settle for the 396[Wink]...

Either way, the 283 will run on pump gas, and in this day and age of high fuel prices, it's probably the way to go!

Good work all around, and I hope your next Mustang project works out well...  The one good thing about Mustangs of that era is that the entire running gear is common, and most parts are easily accessible...  Plus, they are 'relatively' small and light weight cars, so even a mild 289 that runs on regular pump gas will move 'em around good enough!

As long as its reliable, that's all that really matters [Smiley]
As years pass by vehicles just aren't made the long haul anymore. Even the bodies are so weak, its wonder anyone survies a crash these days.

I ended up not taking the Impala last night to the show. When I was driving it back from the shop after the pipes were installed, btw.. it sounds AWESOME!! [Cheesy]  a little louder than I expected but as long I keep a light foot around the law I'll live with it.. anyway, I lost serious oil pressure. When I got back from the show I took it for another drive and no changes. I looked at it this morning and turns out, its no biggie. I need another hose [Smiley]

Oh the owner of that blue mustang asked me if I wanted to buy it. But the only way I can get it is I definitly sell the Impala. After driving it I'm kinda ify on that. Someone is comming to look at it this weekend, if they don't buy it, I may just keep it. Plus a friend of mine is moving to Hawaii, she has a mustang she wants to give me  [Cheesy] [Cheesy]. I'll see if I can find a pic of it.
