With all due respect Orik the Kinks were one of the greatest Rock and Roll bands to ever grace the stage, they were the original Oasis, two brothers ready to break out into a fist fight on stage, and their lyrics make the Stones look like a Pop band.
Sachmo once said there are two kinds of music, good and bad and its obvious which group they fit into, the Kinks were a band that coined a Rock and Roll riff of equal worth to Bo Diddley's riff or Chuck Berry's. I know, I toured for 5 years in a band and still play to this day, I know what a realitive minor is, and I know what 1-4-5 is and baby, That's Rock and Roll.
I also saw Grand Master Flash's first Vancouver show at the Commodore and thought at the time...music is doomed, I was right again.
