I am sitting in front of my puter..NOW...warm..and dry..NOW.  That was heading down the highway..into town at approx 12 pm today.  Haha..it isn't quite as bad as it looks though..if you look closely..there is a rig on the right hand side..and he is blowing snow like crazy...so if you look to the left..you can see it is a little clearer..haha!

i had a cop tailgating me for two blocks for no reason and was expecting the lights and then he just changed lanes and took off. something that lucky only happens when you are doing everthing perfectly legal in every way.

You can slow down a bit though... What's worse than just splashing someone is when you start to hydroplane and lose control of your vehicle and possible kill someone because you're too much of an asshat to slow the f*** down in bad weather...

coming into false creek a large puddle has formed on moberly and i didn't see it til i hit it. it was getting dark while raining and is the most dangerous time for pedestrians. luckily no one was walking by. i try to only drive from and to underground parkades in this weather.

yes it is. an event can be evaluated separately from its outcome.

Well that's not really luck if you were doing everything legal... Luck would be if you passed a cop doing 130 but he was too busy on his cell phone to notice... That would be luck..

besides, any time--being legal or not--that a cop decides not to pull you over is lucky in my books.

What kind of stoopid babble is that? You just said yourself the outcome was lucky ... you're stoopider than I even imagined.

i'll rephrase it just for you dave.
the cop decided not to pull me over. why don't things this lucky happen when i need them???
do you get dave??? the event is separated by the outcome much like a perfectly glorious plane flight which is being enjoyed can either end gloriously or end tragically. regardless of its ending, the person has noted up until the unknown ending that the flight has been glorious, thus, separating the event from its outcome.

If you were going less than the posted speed limit there wouldn't have been that much of a splash to soak a few f***ers... If they didn't get soaked no big deal... if you did soak them and you were still under the speed limit they were probably in an area that's dangerous to be walking anyway so whatever... But if you're going down a street with a posted limit of 50km (that's 50km in optimal conditions and no way is this weather optimal) and you can't slow down to 30 (because of the added dangers and children walking to school) than you're an asshole...

You're still an idiot if you think there is such a thing as luck.
You're an idiot no matter what you say or do.
Just be a good little idiot now, and f*** off and die.

But luck had nothing to do with your situation of you were doing everything legal... If the cop  had decided to pull you over that would have been bad luck because you weren't doing anything illegal... If you were speeding and the cop decided not to pull you over that would be good luck because you were doing something illegal... But doing what you're supposed to do when you're supposed to do it and not getting pulled over has nothing to do with luck it's got everything to do with obeying the law and the cop had no reason to pull you over... That's not luck that's just right... You had the right to be left alone because you were doing nothing illegal...
