I didn't take any photo's, although I should've SHN!

It's not my house, so the homeowners are footing the bill for material costs...  I get kickbacks here and there, but if I was a pro I'd be charging $70-$80/hour for this type of work!  I'm just here to help though[Wink]

But realistically there's more work involved then meets the eye...  I mean, buying all the supplies takes time, travel time, etc...  Even dumping the old carpet and underlay and everything else takes time, fuel and wear & tear, etc...

Good thing though, as even the reciprocating saw blade cost $50, as you need a special one to cut the new flooring.  Don't forget the jig blade too, which is a requirement for those more intricate cuts!

Ah, well good thing it's not your house that got trashed!!
And for sure about there being more work involved than meets the eye; time is money!!

hmm... jig blade for intricate cuts... sounds like something I'd enjoy using, hee heeee!!!  [Cheesy]

Ace, I'm going to go sleep now.  (I just spent a bit of time looking up the typewriter that they used in the movie The Shining because the Underwood looks soooo familiar to me but it isn't the same one as I thought *shrugs*)

Anyway, goodnight to you!

If you define your existence by what employment you hold, how much you have in the bank and your marital/parental status you're f***ed. Sorry to be blunt but to allow the first two points to have any sort of ontological impact reflects a superficiality. The Latin phrase, Radix Malorum est cupiditas comes to mind: Greed for wealth/money is the root of all evil.

You want a wife and or kids? Go get some but don't think they're going to make you happy. Happiness or contentedness comes from within. Nothing is going to "make" you happy.

Now, I say this because I think you're generally a pretty good guy and I think you would benefit by spending less time on forums and more time out in the world. Forums create isolation and fertilise solipsism. Spend less time in your mind and more time in your body. Just get some job to pay the bills--the are lots out there and the key is not to make it the focus of your life but the means to allow you to live your life--and do something positive for people. This laconic boredom or ennui is typical of people who don't do enough for others. Too much time on your hands isn't a good thing. Go volunteer, go help people, do something positive for others and you're going to feel a hell of a lot better.

If not, make an appointment to see a doctor because it's entirely possibly you're clinically depressed.

Good luck, neptune, but seriously, prioritize man. Too many people are completely disconnected from their bodies and from the world these days, thanks in no small part to the great Satan: the Internet....

neptune...I was about to say almost the exact same thing forny just did!
You need to find some purpose with your life right now.Something to make you feel really good about yourself! You have some medical training and obviously care about people alot! However I do get the feeling you are a lonely person, with not too many friends to hang out with. I would highly recommend you finding some kind of place you can volunteer your time. perhaps one of the hospitals, doing stuff with patients. These people are shut in and would love some company.Or some other form of volunteering, what about becoming a"big brother" volunteer your time to a boy that does not have a father! you could take him out fishing, boating etc. You have alot to offer other people, once you feel appreciated you will feel better about yourself and you will also be staying very busy. depression is all in the mind, you can choose to be happy! Make a point every day to do something fun. get out into the world and off this forum. get a dog and go out and meet soem girls. Women will always talk to a guy with a cute dog!!! cheer up you are a great guy!![Wink]

as far as being out of shape, get a dog!! then you have to go for walks and you will mingle with other dog walkers, join a walking group, just get outside and do stuff, the friends will come and the weight will drop off! your #1 priority is just do it!!! think positive not negative ,you attract what you think! if you think sad you will be sad If you think positive and motivated ,good things will come!!

women feel the same way! You may have to lower your expectations of women, if you live with a forny idea of a perfect women all hot, sexy and horny, you will be let down! Go for compatibility and companionship, first. Get out and talk to people in person, if there is chemistry it will show, you cannot feel chemistry over a key board and screen!!! let the real you out to meet girls the old fashion way. be yourself!

i meet plenty of women away from the screen, i have a huge family, with lots of cousins, but none of the women I meet are interested in me, i have a great personality, and funny.. but what keeps them away is the extra 10 pounds i carry.  women are so vain =(  they all have to have their perfect tall skinny surfer boy

bull sh-! I know lots of women with over weight guys! perhaps the women are too overweight for you?? it does go both ways, you know! There are lots of women that will go for personality, don't giveup, so quickly. invite some people over, play some cards, have a dinner party socialise more often. relationships will happen. I got sick of being dissapointed of not being invited out to places so I started doing the inviting ,and you know what it works! everyone wants to be included in stuff, but no one wants to do the work! sometimes it just has to be you to plan events and ask people over.
Plan a small Christmas party or something. get people to bring over some single friends, etc. there is always a way to socialise! the more you do it the more fun you will have, and the better chance is you will meet someone![Wink]

Don't worry about being a few pounds overweight!  I've got some advice for ya...  Physically I'm fairly ideal as far as body dimensions go...
I still have never had a whole lot of luck with the ladies.  Personality counts just as much to them...  Women don't always go straight for looks as much as many guys do...  Teh ladies want a guy that knows what he wants, how to carry himself and that knows how to have fun.  Of course, if you're unemployed and broke, that isn't always the most appealing to them either!
Just have fun and don't sweat the small stuff.  The pieces will eventually fall into place, I'm sure!

I've gotta run.  I've got a few things to take care of...

Find your own path. You will not find it here on a forum, you will not find it inside of yourself, and you will not find it at the bottom of a bottle. This day is Remembrance Day. Try thinking about that instead of thinking about yourself. It would be a step in the right direction.
