And get this... They are taking the 9th and the 23 as Pro-D days and the 12th as a holiday in lieu of Rememberance day (even though it's not a stat holiday).. So basically my kids have ONE full week of school this month... f***ING RETARDED!!!!!

I haven't started my Christmas shopping. [Sad] Wrote out a list of the people I have to buy for. [Smiley]

Rememberance day is a stat holiday, it falls on a sunday but you get the monday off. It must be a stat holiday, isn't it? Well I get paid for it, so I'm taking my saturday shift off. [Cheesy]

It's not a stat. Well not a real stat. If it landed on the week day you have the option to go to the celebrations if you wish and your employer still has to pay you for those days. But since it lands on a sunday there is no lieu day... Because any celebration they will have on the sunday... Most nice employers will just give you the day but my boss isn't... [Sad]

Remembrance Day is a stat holiday depending on which province you live in...

Those bastards in Ontario and Quebec don't think it is...

But Alberta says it is good...

Here's a nice little link (it's a .pdf)

http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/en/lp/spila/clli/eslc/stat_hol.pdf

Remembrance day is a stat holiday (see page 2)

However, some provinces won't give you the holiday/pay if it falls on a non-working day (page 6)

So speaking of Christmas, anyone have any good original gift ideas to kill two birds with one stone. I have so many couples to buy for. Also what do you get old people who have everything. People get to a certain age and they have everything or don't need anything. I like buying for kids but adults gets frustrating. [Sad]
