my brother use to drive semis for a living, before taking a desk job, and he saw many a brutal accident on the roads, one he has never forgotten was decapitation![xx(] he also has had many a driver friend killed while working! it's a tough job!
one must have respect for semi's on the road, as they do not stop quite as easily as a car! I am always amazed at how people will cut in front of a semi. All the times driving with my brother, and seeing how other drivers are,f*** some people are so stupid,it is amazing more are not crushed to death![Sad!]

Nothing to do with me...  I have worked at a couple of trucking outfits in the past though...

I think the rig in the pic is a Kindersley truck, if I'm not mistaken...
I've dealt with Kindersley in the past though...  Byers also...  We'd use a few different outfits to haul sh- up north, as I was local only at the time...

I did the long haul thing a few years ago too...  After about a year and a half I'd gotten sick of being away from home all the time, and I quit.  I personally was never involved in a fatal collision, but I've seen close calls...  I would mainly run to the South Western States and back...  The odd time it was to Alberta & back.  I can tell you this much... they certainly weren't paying me enough to run steady Alberta and back, especially in the winter.  The highways can get brutal, and when I calculated my time involved, I wasn't making enough money, as I was paid by the mile...

I will not drive ever again over the mountain highways here in the winter unless I am paid by the hour!

I worked for an outfit once that paid my by the load...  I can only remember one haul that paid me quite well...  A load of over width trusses...  Needed a pilot car and all...
