I don't think it's a consideration thing... I think the seat and the lid should be down when you flush to keep the water from splashing up and spreading germs all over the place... I tell both my son and daughter to put the lid down when they are done... But I no longer keep out tooth brushes in the bathroom... [xx(]

Thankfully my wife always checks... She's smart like that.

it has nothing to do with smarts..if its in the dark its hard to tell if its up or down...and the worst thing is if your a little tippsy and you fall RIGHT IN!!! I HATE THAT...it just comes down to common courtesy guys...when you finished shaking the lizard please put the seat back down....

You know what I do to see if the seat is down in the dark? I use my f***ing hands to feel for it!

But this is an advanced technique I learned after taking a community college course, so not everyone is capable of doing it I guess....

Glad to see you took the community college course on how to take a piss![Cheesy][Wink]
did they teach you to always wash your hands afterwards too?[^]

It was called "Pissing in the Dark - 101"

And no... I couldn't afford the hand washing course.. So I just wipe my hands on the door knobs.

I am female and I hope to offend none here, but I have an interesting way of looking at this topic.....Why should he put it down for me if I dont leave it up for him?  He almost always does put it down anyway, but if he doesn't, why should I mind?  Its not like its a "girls only" bathroom.  [Smiley]

I guess what I meant by that was that although I hope chivalry really isnt dead, but why does the courtesy have to fall on the men.  I'd hate to think that my husband has been secretly pissed off about all the times that he went to use the bathroom and I didn't leave the seat up for him.

Well, women should also consider that if they leave the toilet seat down, men in the dark may be more likely to piss all over the seat... so when you come in next in the dark you got a warm (or cold depending on the time) surprise for you...

In any case, I always check the seat... and these days I put the whole cover down because sometimes the flushing of hte toilet scares the sh- out of the baby... so better to have it muffled...

I just couldn't resist a quick late evening peek in...

Oh well...  I'll just use the 'post & run' technique!

Dig the Halloween theme here, btw...

Got a bit done today...  Found out Grandma is still too weak to be transferred into rehab this week...  Maybe next week, hopefully.
I know she hates lying in a hospital bed, and I can't blame her...
These are the joys that I'm sure some of us can look forward to when we get old :-(

Started fixing up a room here in the house that was virtually destroyed by the kids...  Now that they're out of the house for the time being, it gives me a chance to catch up on a few of these things...
What the little rats ended up doing is painting the door and parts of the walls with some sort of permanent colouring...  I tried wiping it off with a heavy duty cleaner, but it's no use...  I bought some primer/sealant, known as 'Kilz' and applied it over their 'artwork' so the colouring doesn't leech through when I apply the latex paint...
The carpeting is finished too...  It's stained with some sort of permanent colouring, and is beyond repair.  Once I get everything else painted and touched up, I'm gonna tear the carpet right out and install 'click & stick' fake hardwood floor...
If any kids even think about entering this house with any kind of magic marker, I'll toss their felts straight into the garbage...

I also inquired today about upgrading my laptop's RAM...
It came with 1 gig (512mb X 2), but I might bump it up to 2 gigs here shortly...
I phone up Future Shop, to inquire about the cost of 1 gig sticks...
They tell me each 1 gig module will cost me about $120, plus about $25 for install...
Then I search through Toshiba Canada's website (I know I could get some no name RAM for cheap, but I don't mind spending a bit more for original equipment components) and find that I can purchase 1 gig sticks for under $60 online from them directly...  Half the price of Future Shop...
Sometimes it's worth it to shop around...

And with that, I'm going to disappear for the night!

Why would anyone go to the bathroom in the dark?  Don't you all know you're supposed to check things out in the bowl before you flush it away?
