I was listening to that CKNW this morning and some East Indian broadcaster used the word "redneck" to describe white Canadians.  Now I sure as hell would hear about it if I was on the radio and called Chinese c***s or East Indians pakis and I think the term redneck the way they use it is also offensive.  What do you think because I might complain to the CRTC about this one.

It's in the CKNW audio vault and as best I can tell since he has a harsh accent, he says "The time should come when rednecks accomodate most immigrants..."

I think that's offensive as if I said "It's time most c***s adopted Canadian ways".

what pisses me off in my redneck part of the canadian woods..is on my local radio station..they play late night with david lettermen.  It plays..as the kids are getting ready for school.  I mean seriously..it is "late night" for a reason!  Sheesh...

Cracker is the same as redneck, they're carry the same meaning.  I sent a complaint and we'll see what happens.  I'm pissed the f*** off.

But hey where did Golliwogg come from?

2 definitions of WOG that I know are "worker of the ground" similar to redneck or "worldly oriental gentleman" which tends to be forgotten about!  I find it interesting as a use of the English language.  Now redneck is also a worker of the land.  Please step in and correct me if I'm wrong.  Not all white, asian, africans work on the land in this day and age?

i agree with mm. we are moving far too many clandestine and serpentine ppl into our country that have no plans of ever becoming fellow canadians. we should have learned from japan's attack on pearl harbour. i'm not saying all the japanese in the west are eastern in thinking. i'm saying that canadian japs would have bowed to hirohito if the japs won while i would have never bowed to a jap and died as a canadian. imagine what will happen in canada when war begins with china on the opposing side?
