I wouldn't trust my bills to a government run company.[}:)]

lol, srsly.

it seems convenient though.  i hate getting paper bills/junk in the mail but at the same time i am a bit skeptic to try new things like this.

so no one has even heard of it? Shocked  that is the part that seems odd.

maybe it's a brand new thing??

its been around for quite awhile now. im thinking maybe 10 years? i signed up when it first came out and it does save on paperwork. most of my statements, i check online anyways so this epost is kinda useless. i guess if you have a canada post account, this would be handy.

thanks monday. i didn't know it was around for that long.

i agree, it does seem kind of pointless..

rather than using epost then, i think i'll sign up online to receive statements from companies i deal directly with.

ROTFL. You are actually using "Canada Post" and "seriously" in the same context? I know a guy who worked in Malawi who said that Malawian mail was better than Canada Post (I mean, two -- three days to get a letter across Vancouver FFS) and I have little reason to doubt him. BTW, Malawi is a developing country.

BTW -- at the other extreme from Canada Post is the Japanese mail -- if you post early enough in Japan it will be delivered by regular mail  on the same day.

The day I trust Canada Post to do something like the OP is suggesting with epost is the day I get invited to pilot the Space Shuttle.

More likely that I'll pilot the Space Shuttle than Canada Post will deliver something overnight.

Glad to hear it. Tip from an government worker: this sort of crap is merely an attempt by Canada Post to show to the government how it is commercially minded with a view to innovative revenue streams, in order to justify continued subsidy levels and to stave off further privatization.  The Government would love to be rid of them. Never trust Canada Post with anything: they will f*** it up!

I have tried to use epost but many of the bills that I wanted most were not available on the epost system.

It ended up completely useless to me.

That must be the reason our prayers are never answered.[}:)]

interesting:

As the world's first electronic post office, epost delivers the mail online for Canada Post. A free, secure, web-based service, epost is an alliance between its shareholders - Canada Post Corporation, Bank of Montreal and Telus Corporation.

i called my credit card ppl and asked to have 2 cards in my name, why? b/c i pay them off monthly and rarely put a card over 1000 dollars p/m. so, i wanted one card with my full limit for things above 1000 and another mostly used card with a 1000 limit so that no thieves could use my number to buy/steal much. i would buy much more online and by phone if i had a low limit credit card to use.

I use epost for a couple of my bills because my mail seems to always get delivered to the wrong address and many many times I have my mail slipped under my door already opened... I prefer ebills from everything but for the few that don't have it yet I use epost. I get ebill through shaw, hydro, visa, mastercar and telus through their direct websites... but I have epost for a couple credit cards that I don't really use but keep so I can work on my credit rating.

My bank charges me to receive my bills through them... It's easier and I have more control over it by doing it through each company seperately... And I pay them all through my bank with online banking so I can pay what I want when I want... That way I know my bills are being paid in full and I'm not getting charged nsf charges... I had that problem once with shaw when I had them set up for direct debit through my account and they increased their rates and I was like 3 dollars short one month and got charged $20 nsf charge from my bank, $25 dollar nsf charge from shaw and then because it had gone over a month since I realized it wasn't paid they charged me a $20 late payment processing fee... and yes I yelled about that one...

I have not received a bill in the mail in ages, what i do and seems to work, is to make a list of all your monthly bills and put their 800 number by it, and the date they are due.  I tape this to my desk and scan it every day.  When a due date comes up, i call the 800#, get my balance, and go to my online bill pay.  super quick and easy

I have my due dates in my outlook to pop up every month on the billing date... Most of them are always the same amount and I have recurring transactions saved in my online banking so I just go in and click pay and it's done... Way better than waiting for paper bills and taking the chance of a late payment.
