Yeah, and drinking gin is a form of birth control too.

Sadly, gin had the opposite effect on your mom.

I just popped my second round of alka seltzer cold remedy.  Seems to be working pretty good so far!

Good god I hope not. But then that would be a total miracle as I don't have all my parts anymore (nuff said). Nope I can't take cold medicine cus I have a thyroid disease. I tried to take some once and layed vibrating on the couch for about 4 hours. Scared the crap outta me thought my heart was gonna explode.

Oh I'm sorry... That sucks for you then... I took some cold meds but they stopped working after three days... I didn't take anything this morning so I'm sitting here cold and aching... I would like to go home now... but I can't... I have 8 hours and 9 minutes to go still... [Sad]

Spygirl, sorry to hear about the thyroid!  I've had a few family members with them removed entirely.  Benadryl is the worst offender in my books, sends me into massive palpitations, wound up in the hospital once.

The best remedy overall for the prevention of illness is plenty of sleep, and a well balanced diet and exercise.  If i slept more than 4 hours a nite, i'd probably not be sick

Those bears are soooo cute!

No worries about the thyroid problem, had it since I was a teen. Although then it was overactive but they gave me radioactive iodine to kill part of it and now it is under active. Makes it very, very, very hard to lose weight (I know a lot of people don't believe that).

Hope you guys are feeling better. My daughter was sick last week, thought I was getting it but fought it off.

My grandmother had her thyroid killed off via atomic cocktail, and as soon as her thyroid gave up, she gained weight like crazy, and no matter what she did, could not shed the pounds.  In a sense it is true, people can be medically overweight and not be able to do anything about it.

well thankfully I'm not overweight (by much) love to lose 10 pounds but its damn hard. Sometime my pills need adjusting as the thyroid will vary. One time when it went out of whack on me I gained 20lbs in a week and couldn't get up before 10 or 11 am as I was so tired. My face was swollen up like a beach ball. Not fun.
