I guess I could ask them there!
We accidently put some tin cans, that were on there way to go out for recycling, on our oak window seat in the dining room. when I noticed them lying on the oak it was too late they had left a black ring, that will not come out! I am kind of pist about it and I'm not sure how to remove the stains. I'm thinking I will have to sand the whole thing down and re stain it. unless there is a easier way?Huh

Leave it with me overnight I'll ask one of my painters tomorrow,I have forgotten the way to stain and build it up to hide the water stains,Last resort though you can always sand but let me look into it further before you sand.[Smiley]

http://www.finishing.com/85/75.shtml

Try this first before trying the options listed in that link NSGirl,Set an iron on low heat and iron a piece of wax paper over the stain then buff.[Smiley]

I think that would be considered a heat stain too, the stain on my oak is more of a chemical reaction I think, from the metal, thats why they are black not white. I hate tin cans I notice too sometimes when I wash my cubboards out they sometimes leave little rust like stains. Those I can bleach out but wood is more difficult![Sad]

O.k. I wasn't sure if you had already done stuff like this before seeing I know you do fixer upper type jobs. I may even just make a seat cushion to cover the window seat![Wink]

If it was a cum/vaginal fluid stain I could be of help but I know very little about tin on oak.

I bet Marlboro Man could sort it out....
