Check out this old school pic of Riverview...  I don't even see a road where Lougheed would run now...  There used to only be a whistlestop called 'Essondale' at the time...

Colony Farm, or 'The Farm', which is on the other side of the highway, is the other 'part'...  That's where psycho killers get to spend their time!

cool pic Ace!  I know 2 people who used to work there.  One of them had to escort patients from one place to another.  He said the worst times were taking them to the shock therapy room.

Wow, just checked on the internet, you're right. Essondale was renamed Riverview in 1966. You learn something new every day!

Colony Farm is a public park now I believe. I can remember as a kid being scared of all those places in the burbs! New West had the BC Pen, Coquitlam Riverview and Colony Farm, etc. lol

Riverview is still up and running!  They used to be one of our customers...  In fact, they've recently built a new building!
It's not up and running like it used too, though...  In its prime it housed many thousands...  Now it's down to two or three hundred...

The Farm has always been up and running.  In fact, they've improved the grounds...  You can see 'The Farm' if you're heading westbound over the Port Mann...

Shock therapy!  They used to use industrial strength battery chargers!
