I need advice, has anyone recently taken a driving course in Vancouver? On the North shore the difference in price from the school the high school uses to the price of the other driving schools is quite different! I am almost wondering if the high school gets a kick back ,as the one they sent a flyer home for, is so much more expensive!
Do you think some schools are that much better?I am comparing #of hours for lessons and driving time.
Any recommendations or input would be appreciated! I don't want to use a crap school but also don't want to be ripped off!
Thanks!

I can't remember the name of my driving school but I used their coupons in the Yellow Pages. Maybe you can try using them as they do give discounts there. Try asking around, comparing prices and ask if they would match your prices. You can also try calling ICBC and ask if they might be able to recommend a good driving school.

Good luck!

The rates the high school quoted were for the bare basics ECONOMY package $640 meaning we do most of the training.
To plan C $4,520.00 which would require no additional at home practice driving with us, the instrustor would do all the practice time with the kids.
I would not want to pass any bad habits off on my kid,so the least amount of time we have to spend teaching her the better but not at $4,000+!! thats crazy!
They charge between $50 an $70 per hour for road time!
I know ICBC are not allowed to give out recommendations,I wish they could, but they can't!

Wow. The rates have definitely gone up since I last used a driving school. YIKES!! Sorry, I can't be any more help there.

Here's a link from the ICBC site that provide a list of licensed driving schools. They don't give any referral but they just list them for you to see. http://www.dtcbc.com/resource/schools.htm

the high school might be getting a kickback or simply, the driving school has jacked up their prices because they know they can!
