What sorts of posts tend to elicit a response from the mods? Or is it pretty much a non issue? Have I discovered an eletronic utopia, where the hive mind prevails and users float on clouds of love and acceptance?

Not too many things, don't post huge pictures that take up the whole screen + make computers crash, no race threads. There probably are a few more rules.

Pretty much common sense prevails...

race stuff gets deleted pretty quickly, you won't see the stuff that fills dv on some days here

I do think we have a pretty intelligent community here as the adolescent crowd craves a larger audience of their peers and tends to stick to dv for the multiple 'rate my sphincter' kinds of threads

Common sense prevails? Unfortunately, there is no universally agreed upon set of common sense guidelines. It would be interesting to find out exactly what is a bannable offense here. You see, over on DV there was some talk of DATW being a place where free speech was the watchword.

hard to put it in exactly those words, but I think it was worded as "excessive vulgarity" is not tolerated... colorful language as a part of a conversation is no big deal, but outright calling someone the crudest possible expletives in big capital letters is almost certainly going to be deleted

Deletions. They aren't such a big deal. Like Curses used to say, none of this really matters in the long term. Posts are not masterpieces we should place behind bullet proof glass. Mostly I'm curious what I would need to do to have my IP banned

From what I've seen, it's just like what was mentioned previously here with regards to racial topics.
You'd probably have to go on some racial slur rant claiming how you're going to kill all the <insert ethnicity here> to get banned permanently.

so far just the big picture spammer has had his ips banned (mostly proxies) and a couple of trolls that came on spewing a bunch of racist slurs
