One can not get a job without applying??

There are seperate contractors and subsidiaries of Translink, and that each one does their own hiring...

Coast Mountain Bus Company has been hiring roughly 250 to 300 new drivers every year for the past 5 or 6 years! Just to keep up with expansion, retirements, and to replace those that move into other departments...
AND, Driving is not the only opportunity... INFORMATION CLERKS & FAREBOX opportunities come and go almost monthly!

Union wages, benefits, decent companies to work for...
Better that flipping burgers for barely above minimum wages...

Just an update: Bit of a HIRING FREEZE has just come into effect at most lower mainland transit operations...

TransLink did NOT get their Vehicle Levy, did NOT get more property tax revenue, and did NOT get their 12.5% Fare increase in 2013. Big audit going on, as TransLink, and it's subsidiaries, look for at least $30,000,000.00 in cost reductions...

Service Improvements for April 23 will go ahead as planned (NEW Route between Langley & White Rock), BUT any other planned improvements for later on in 2012 are NOW ON HOLD!

www.translink.ca

Transit Police are still looking to hire more/new Police Officers....
