The traffic here has been so damn slow lately. Everyone gone for the holidays... errr, I mean, entire winter?

Seems to be the same on all the forums.

Anytime I can and usually Seymour. It's cheaper than cypress and grouse prob better for a noob. You going soon? I can take a day off to go.

I hope to go soon-ish because I don't want to forget what I've learnt.
Do you ever go up on weekends, or are they too chaotic?

I need someone to go with this weekend. I don't mind going alone during the week but not on the weekends. I'm not sure why.

I took five 2-hour lessons at Grouse.
How much did you learn when you were snowboarding in Whistler?

How much it cost for the lessons? I skied at whistler. Those shoes were really uncomfortable. Snowboarding might be better for my feet. Next time I go up the mountain I shall snowboard.

The price really varies depending on whether you need a lift ticket and rental or just the lesson. Mine was a 5 day thing, but now they only have 4 day sessions or single day drop-in lessons. Here is the link for the 4-day sessions:
http://www.grousemountain.com/Winter/skiing-riding/snow-school/ski-snowboard-lessons-adult-programs.asp
And the link for the drop-in lessons:
http://www.grousemountain.com/Winter/skiing-riding/snow-school/ski-snowboard-lessons-drop-in-lessons.asp
I don't think the drop-in lessons are enough though. I'd recommend the 4 session thing.
I found the snowboard boots to be fairly comfortable, but I had to get a size smaller than my normal shoes.

You got your own snowboard and boots now? I saw some snowboards at Sportchek, and they were only $159.

I bought boots already... but not a snowboard yet. I'm debating whether to buy a used or new board. I have seen some great deals on snowboards, but then you have to buy the bindings, which can cost as much as the board.

Wait till the ski/snowboard swap. You can get really great deals there. Or for boots you can head down to the outlet mall in seattle in the summer and get awesome deals. I got my pants, jacket, boots, goggles and mitts at the outlet mall. My sister got me a good deal on a k2 board and flow bindings. I got my kids gear at the ski swap.
