Everything is growing like stink now that the sun is out and I have been keeping everything well watered. I am having Hamburger soup loaded with veggies from my garden. White chard, turnip, green beans, carrots, garlic, onion, baby zucchini, parsley, peas. I am quite proud of my garden this year. Everyone says it is beautiful. The back yard was a real piece of shit before I moved in. My pumpkin plant is taking over about ten square feet up in the corner. I gave that sucker alot of miracle grow, bone meal, and manure, lots of water and I keep it weeded. It is growing in every direction. This is the first garden of my own. I used to have to do it for family when I was younger.

we should all grow some of our own food--a tomato plant or herbs or something.

I had a basil plant on my kitchen counter,it died! Cry

After this wind storm we had,I've been cleaning up my friggen yard. you would not begin to believe just how much shit can come out of those big huge fir trees.
OH my god garbage can after gabage can. All those little brown things that are on the trees[2 full cans with just those alone and they are tiny] branches ,pine cones.
What a mess. As beautiful as it is living amongst nature it sure can be messy!

We had just finish cleaning our creek out too and had that up and running. I had to clean that out again too. Angry

so on this property I would not have time for vegtables. Perhaps a tomato plant in a pot or something like that. I'm still waiting for dickwad to show up and replace our sundeck too. Sometimes I do strawberries on the deck,or pluck in green onion tops to wath them grow. Those things literaly regrow in days, easiest vegtable to grow! With all the wild life around here, a vegtable garden could be asking for trouble! Shocked

The windstorm knocked down some of my corn, and the taller flowers. I am glad I put supports on my gigantiums. They are huge and when the flower is getting max, it drops it's leaves and if the wind the knocks them over they will snap and die. You can't bring them back. The ones in the back got enormous. The one in the front gets less sun and is still healthy and growing. I am glad I have a shit load of skinny bamboo poles. I used them to erect everything that collapsed and they are doing well again.

I have bamboo plants, but I keep them in oak barrels. Otherwise they get away. My old boss has a whole yard of uncontrolled bamboo. He has sign out front giving it away. They shed alot, and I am constantly picking up leaves from them. Even if you give them a tonne of water they still shed dry leaves. My tomatoes are finally changing color. They are a darker orange right now. My beans are producing like crazy. Every day I get too much for myself.

Did you start your plants from seed right in the graden or from pots in the house?
