it's summertime, forums are usually slower in the summer, things will get busier in the fall

I like reading your posts still, but I haven't had as much time to post myself lately

Ywes, I think it's the summer as well, most of the other forums seem to be going through the doldrums too.

I'm here. Kinda late but still here. Been mostly out of the house when I'm not working and never usually have down time at work. Makes the days go by fast so I'm ok with it.

The DV site being down is putting me through severe withdrawal.  I have a full week of conference call meetings that are a complete waste of time and I need something to amuse me!  I'm relying you you, DATWites, to fill the void!   Smiley

UGH! I've got a big move coming up within the next 6 months. Moving to the Interlake Region of Manitoba a little south of Gimli. That's where Crown Royal rye whisky is distilled for those interested in the finer things in life. Most of my moves have been long distance ones and it is my least favourite thing to do. I would rather chew steel wool.

I'm having laminate floors put in there too.

why are you moving there? anyway, i've heard of gimli. that's where an air canada jet (767, i think) safely landed after running out of fuel because we had just switched over to metric and the fuel guys underfilled the jet. those idiots at air canada never even taught metric to the crews before switching over. anyway, that jet flew for many more years with its new name--'the gimli glider'.

I'm moving there because it is almost like another planet there, it is so beautiful. The cost of living is very low, far less then anywhere else than I can think of in Canada and I have family living there already. Our house there is being rebuilt to our specs and should be ready in about 6 months.

Yes, Gimli is the site where the Gimli Glider landed at an old disused Air force base that the pilot new of from his days in the armed forces. Lucky for him and all passengers.
