front page of paper today says 80% of people do not smoke!!! That's good! I do not smoke. Are you in the majority or the minority?
If you do smoke ,do you want to quit?,If not why?

nope ... though me and a cousin stole a carton of cigarettes from my uncle when we were 9 and smoked half of it before we got so dizzy we almost passed out

I remember stealing one of my fathers sportsman cigarettes when I was about that age too. I went to the forest and smoked it,and I barfed it all up too!
I did smoke a bit in my teens,but just very casually,never a regular smoker.
With all the health risk known today I just don't get why someone would now ever even start!

NSgirl_ I smoke- almost two packs a day. I smell of smoke. I am bound to stores that sell them. I go nuts if I run out. My teeth are yellow and my breath smells badly. I am in the early stages of emphasema. God knows what my lungs look like. I wheeze at night. Whe I wake up, my mouth tastes like the inside of a garbage can. I have no sense of smell anymore. I spend $8.00 a day to maintain my addiction.

I was hooked when it was glamorous to smoke. If there was one thing in my life I could change it would be smoking. Now, where did I put that package? Oh God, I just smoked my last one. See ya.

Yes I can understand the older generation smoking because just look at all the old movies and talk shows etc on t.v. everyone smoked constantly! No one really knew how bad it was for you. The tobacco industry lied to everyone about the risks etc, and many people became addicted.
I watched my mother in law die slowly from her habit. she ended up on all sorts of tubes and a oxygen tank to breath.
I hope you find the strength to quit one day!

I think people smoke mainly because of the association of cigarettes with a pseudo feeling of power. Same applies to beer, at least here in my country, where all beer commercials have hot half naked girls shaking their asses around men drinking beer.
