TORONTO - The proportion of visible minorities in Canada, already one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world, is set to explode in the coming decades and account for one-third of the population, Statistics Canada says.

In a projection released Tuesday, Statistics Canada says that by 2031 up to 14.4 million people in Canada could be a visible minority - with so-called minorities becoming the majority in two major cities.

Driven largely by immigration, but also birth rates and younger median ages among visible minorities, the projection suggests the face of Canada will have changed dramatically over half a century.

In 1981 there were about one million Canadians - five per cent of the population - who identified themselves as visible minorities. The projection for 2031 is more than double the 5.3 million visible minorities counted in the 2006 census.

As the upward trend continues Canadians will have to start thinking about races in a different way - not just visible minorities as compared to the Caucasian population, said a Queen's University sociology professor.

I read something similar in the paper this morning, and while I am fully supportive of having a whole rainbow of people in this country I was startled by the mention of 2/3's of the visible minorities not being canadian born. That makes it over one third of vancouvers total population that is not born here. The same article also suggested that businesses adjust their marketing schemes to become more appealing to these other culture (mostly chinese). That irks me. If someone is to immigrate here it should be because they like canadas culture and are fully willing to immerse themselves in it... not override it.

i see no chance of reversal now, unless a major world war breaks out. i believe this would end all western nations from massive eastern immigration once they saw how destructive the results would be, internally/domestically, which would be solely caused by this extreme diversity. this wide-open, all encompassing diversity is just as extreme as total one race supremacy and is even more dangerous.

It's sad but I think what made Canada such an attractive country in the first place is soon to be destroyed by those who were so attracted to it.

And then where do white people go?

after thinking over the facts of our situation, we can expect to die (if we make it to old age) at the hands of foreign doctors, nurses and healthcare workers in general. of course, many of us will be put down just like people put down their sick pets as these foreign medical people will see us as just a drain on their nonwhite tax money.

let us look at this mathematically,  if every white woman/man (couple) has two children, it still wouldn't maintain our present level of population because people die from various causes before they reproduce.
canada has over 100,000 abortions every year. these abortions are almost all white women. very, very few immigrants have abortions and our native population abortion ratio is very, very low.
immigrants, very often, have large families and have many children and in combination with the constant annual stream of eastern immigrants moving here, their rate of increase is exponential. with the white population only having one or two babies per couple on average and our population therefore decreasing, the white population rate of decrease is also exponential. this ratio/gap of eastern immigrant population and white domestic population widens/increases each day.

since trudeau legalized abortion, over three million white babies have been put to death. and, that is not to mention the babies they would have had. anyway, we are talking about a city with a population of one hundred thousand homegrown white people put to death every year through abortion.

with a country so wealthy in every natural resource, if trudeau had set up a social program to promote healthy living and family life, we would never have this 'so-called' need for immigrants of diversity. we would have continued to grow with a true canadian population of families with 3, 4 or 5 children. this was/is a planned socially engineered program of global magnitude and you be the judge--by the results--as to why it was implemented and as to why it continues.
