we went to Whytecliff park just up from horseshoe bay.If you have never been before I highly recommend going one day ,the views are spectacular.
this link does not do it justice. we climbed to the top of that little island thing you see.We had a panaramic view from all directions,it was beautiful. We watched the  scuba divers, ferries coming in, sailboats, etc. the rock itself was very pretty climbing up with the arbutus trees[we don't have many arburus trees here, you usually see them on vancouver island] We didn't see any seals lying around but I did see one in the water. it was actually a pretty good work out too, after we drove along marine drive, where some pretty cool looking ocean front houses are we then went to Lighthouse park. That wasn't as nice but they have some good trails and you can walk to the ocean and over look downtown Vancouver and then up to the light house at Atkinson point.

If you take the exit right after the ferry exit,it is exit 2 inbetween the ferry exit and whistler exit and follow the signs,it takes you into the park. Parking is free. there is a beach where all the scuba divers are busy playing and then thereare 2 different bluffs to climb up, we went up both. the one bluff further out in the water is amazing. you would need to go during low tide. it is not too hard a climb up,i managed it no problem and kids were even going up. you do not want to go up after drinking though because if you fell,it would be nasty if not fatal!
the view was stunning from all directions.the climb itself was fun manouvering which way to go,as some directions were trickier then others. Lots of wonderful photo points.
I want to go again, I am hoping next time will be when all the seals are up on the beach, that would be fun to see.it is well worth the drive, but go on a sunny day as i think the rocks would be too slippery if it was not dry out.

i've gone to whistler, but never took that exit. i'll check it out next time i'm up there. it would be nice. places like that remove stress and make problems seem smaller and more manageable.

It's been a few years, but have visited that park many times... Very enjoyable!

Another place we do like to visit from time to time is OTHELLO TUNNELS, just a few minutes past Hope on Hwy #5... It's a BC park that contains a series of old railway tunnels... Very beautiful area... Pack a lunch, or stop along the way... We picked up a cooked chicken and fixings in Hope once and had a very nice afternoon picnic...
