As a child, you don't know what you're sexual preference is. You're learning about yourself and your sexuality as time goes by. But when you're getting raped on a daily basis by your male babysitter, I'm guessing that's more than enough to influence your desire for female companionship. Being able to explore her sexuality in a way that was comfortable for her, was an option she never had. So was she born straight/lesbian? Who knows? She just turned 40, has been living as a lesbian since her mid teens, has never considered anything else and is more than happy with her life.... that's the important thing.
