Actually it's often people like me who want the anthem changed. I don't like the reference to religion/god or the reference to war/defense. It's left wing athiests, not immigrants, who want it changed yck.

Had we a huge budget surplus and no pressing issues to deal with (poverty, homelessness, healthcare, Afghanistan, etc.) I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have a look at it but it's certainly not a major concern--or shouldn't be.

Besides, my anthem has and always will be The Maple Leaf Forever.

Yup, I was born and raised in vancouver.... I've never lived anywhere else.
My ethnic background is mostly Italian, Irish, Scottish, English, French, etc., so I'm by no means a "non-white" either.

I agree that it's not a major issue... just a rather trivial one. But how time and money consuming could tweaking the anthem be?
